40 miles away from our villa, Wekiwa Springs is one of Florida's largest springs and very popular with residents of Orlando. No matter what outdoor sports you like, it is here! Hiking, biking, horseback riding, paddling or swim in the 72 degrees spring. Just make sure you are there in time or the parking lot will be full and you might not be able to enter.

60 miles away from our villa, Blue Spring is a protected winter home to more than a hundred manatees to migrate and to visit. During manatee season, which runs from mid-November through March, many manatees can be viewed atop the spring’s overlooks. The spring and spring run are closed to all water activity while manatees are present during this time. Swimming or diving with manatees is not permitted; this rule is strictly enforced. When the spring can be enjoyed by swimmers, snorkelers and divers it will be crystal clear and the water will be 73-degrees during swimming season. When you do not want to swim you can enjoy fishing, canoeing and boating along the St. John’s River.
75 miles away from our villa, DeLeon Springs is a basin that is about 100 yards wide and about 25 feet deep in the center There is a cave which is approximately 175 feet deep and is only allowed for scuba divers with an instructor. The water is 72 degrees year-round. The Sugar Mill is a replica of the original mill which burnt down and is used as a restaurant that also sells books and gifts. Here you can cook-your-own pancakes.
85 miles away from our villa, Weeki Wachee has attracted visitors with mermaids ever since 1947 and still do so today. You can take a boat ride up the river or take a canoe or kayak. There also will be an animal show given given about domesticated birds and reptiles.
90 miles away from our villa, Silver Springs is now in the hands of Florida State Parks and has been in the progress of restoration. The world famous glass bottom boat rides are still being offered. You can also rent a canoe or kayak when you want to go out and paddle you way around. When you like horse-back riding, guided trail rides are offered.
95 miles away from our villa, at Homosassa springs you can see manatees every single day from the underwater observatory. The park is a showcase for Florida wildlife, from manatees to flamingos and from alligators to panthers.
