Day 81 – October 12

What a great we had yesterday, I really enjoyed my birthday!
I did not have to do anything, normally when we celebrate birthdays we have the house packed with family and friends, but not this time. So a birthday only with all the adorable messages from all of you. Thanks for thinking about me!

For the remainder of the day with did not do too much, Camy had homework to do but that was it. At about 4.00PM we drove to the golf course of Kissimmee, we had to try the new clubs Camy had gotten because of her birthday.

With a little help from Bram she did quite all right, it is a first, we will be back for more golf!

While Bram and Camy were practicing their respective swings I played a little on my phone, time for a selfie. Golf is not really my thing, I rather watch it. Ah well, who knows I might like it some day and start playing. But it needs to be with temperatures like today and no cold and wind.

Day 80 – October 11

Hip Hip Hooray!

Today is party time! It is my birthday and Camy celebrates hers as well today, she turned 12-1/2.
She wanted to celebrate it in The USA, so why not today.

That is also why we bought the cake: Happy Birthday “All About Life Here”!

day80-03 To start the day the right way, we stopped at Dunkin’ Donuts first to get a dozen awesome donuts!

day80-04 So today started with…. Breakfast!

Oh no no, it started by unwrapping all the present we got!

They spoiled me with, strawberry shower gel, pink nail polish, Sephora box with 7 mascara’s. A Too faced box holding a mascara, eyeliner, primer. Oh and not to forget the MAC lipstick, Candy Yum Yum. Very, very happy!

My mum gave me my present, a new bedcover, for when we come home, thanks!

Because Camy celebrated her birthday as well we got her some golf clubs. Now she can play with Bram. We found those clubs at the Goodwill store while Camy was at school. And let me tell you, you do not run into those very often since they are left-handed and youth size. We bought three clubs, she how much she will like it.

This walking branch brought us a visit, never seen this one here before. I say walking branch but I am not sure of it because I do not think they can fly.

For lunch I had made us some pumpkin soup and a pumpkin smoothy, and yes used the pumpkin I bought yesterday. I had already cut the pumpkin and had it sit in water the entire night. Only to be put into the blender today with banana, orange juice, milk and cinnamon to get this wonderful smoothy, real good!

We decided to go to Universal Citywalk this evening to celebrate, we had never been there before. We read a lot about it but never actually went. It is comparable with Disney Pleasure Island except that Disney is, in our opinion, more family minded and Citywalk more for the older, at least that is what we think. We like Disney better but it was good to atleast been there.

And to finish it all up, make your own ice cream.

All in all a superb day, special and different from Holland.

Day 79 – October 10

Friday morning means Worship at St. Lukes, so we attended chapel once again. We always wait outside so we can see the kids enter church from school, this is Camy and her chapel buddy. First all classes sat together but no they created these families. One student from every grade and this means that the elder have to be a guide for the younger ones. So Camy always needs to go to second grade first to pick up and guide her buddy.

Afterwards we went to a pumpkin patch, I do not know how many pumpkins they had but it was full of them. It of course is almost Halloween.

We bought 2 small pumpkins so we can make some soup of it and smoothies as well.

After that we stopped at several yard sales. Fridays and Saturdays it is normal to sell your stuff. So we found an app that informed us all about the yard sales that were going on.

And of course, just follow the sign that leads you to them.

After school we found this old fashioned place where they sell all kinds of hot dogs.

At Walmart we saw those pumpkins, not orange but pink. They are baskets which you can use as a bag when you go trick-or-treat on Halloween.

And since we got a birthday coming up we bought a birthday cake as well.

And when we finally arrived home, we found a beautiful card from France in our mailbox, thank you!

Day 71 – October 2

All right, our days off are behind us, 5 days of doing whatever you feel like doing are over. We dropped Camy off at school and we went on to play some golf. Because it was Brams birthday this week he received a coupon of a golf course in Sanford. He was invited to play 18 holes of golf for free, isn’t that nice.

See, here we are in our golf cart, it was mandatory and to tell you the truth much better than walking. Since Bram played I drove and was his caddy again.

We also had to cross the road a couple of times, this course too, was in the village center.

We played with two other guys which was good so they could show us the way.

I’m behind the wheel and have to keep score as well, busy, busy, busy job 🙂

The weather was awesome once again, tee time was 10.00AM with some sun. It got a little cloudy while playing but no complaints, it would be too hot when there were no clouds.

All in all, perfect day! and for me a first to play golf the entire day.
We left at 10.00AM and played until 2.00PM, what a day … but we did it.
And this was our cart … cool driver too, or not?!

Day 67 – September 28

It is Brams birthday today, hip hip hooray!

We started the day with a self-made breakfast, cinnamon rolls freshly made in the oven.

Here a picture of all the presents we got Bram, earned by taking the tour through the Villa set up by Camy. With every present there was an assignment Bram had to full fill.

Afterwards I painted these racks one more time. Two of them are ready and can be placed in the Villa. The third one needs one more lick of paint.

We logged in to the worship at 11.00AM, held at St. Lukes Church, Camy’s school. This worship can however not be compared to the one given to the students on Friday morning so we shut it off. But if you want and you are out of town you can still participate in the worship of your own church.

Camy wanted to make some cake with Bram, since it is Brams birthday there is a good reason to make one. When they were done we took a large piece and took it with us to Jack and Carole. We said we would be there at about 4.00PM.

On the way we saw all these toadstools, looks like autumn has begun. It was fascinating to me how such a nice circle was created…. mother nature, love it

day67-09 At Jack and Carole’s we ordered pizza and ate it outside by the pool.

As a desert Carole had bought Bram a real nice birthday cake and Oreo Ice Cream Cake.

What you mean colorant? I’d say, we have had more than enough sugar for the upcoming week.

Day 46 – September 7

Yesterday I received some mail from Denise, I know her through Instagram. She mailed me a card which had a Dutch cow on it and a self-made pendulum. Thank you very much!

Bram started working the yard, since the pool has been enclosed again we can now put everything back. We hope this will protect the pool when the guys take care of the lawn. Hope the grass will start growing soon, so it will all be grass soon.
