Day 149 – December 19

Today was Camy’s last day of school, we all took her to class on this final day. Granddad and grandma’s joined her to class and stayed there for the pledges.

Today we also need to pick Camy up at 1.00PM so we again have entertain ourselves until then. Camy has no more tests today but it is more a fun day at school with a couple of games they play. A fun day to say good bye to her American Middle School adventure.

First we attended chapel with the five of us, the last one we will attend before going home.

Afterwards we had breakfast at First Watch, we had a wonderful blueberry pancake.

At 1.00PM we picked Camy up for the last time, this was the final day of school after attending St. Lukes Middle school for the past five months, what an experience for a 12 year old. It is hard to think about it that it has come to an end, it was all so good. School was awesome, the student and teachers more than that!

Taking a few pictures with some of Camy’s friends.

She was also spoiled by students and teachers with some little things.

Quick, one more final picture with Audrey her friend from 7th grade.

This afternoon we went to Blue Spring State Park. Unfortunately there were not too many manatees, like last time. But still we had a good time to start the holiday season we will still spend here.

Day 121 – November 21

When we drove towards Daytona Beach last week we saw a sign that said Blue Spring State Park. That same afternoon I googled for this park and found out that it has many manatees. So today was the day to visit it.

Oh and let me tell you, just awesome, it is a really great park. We also were fortunate enough that the weather was better again so that made it even better. We saw I don’t know how many manatees and other large fish. This park is more than worth visiting!

In the beginning there were not too many manatees. We did see signs saying alligators were also present. We also walked in the shade, that made it a little difficult to spot them.

day121-05

Here you can see three of them, swimming around.

day121-06

Here a close up, they are about 10 feet tall.

day21-07 day21-08 day21-09

When it is summertime you can also swim, dive and snorkle here. But not this time of year since it is breeding season and it is prohibited to swim from November to April.

day21-10

Taking a picture of the mosaic manatee.

day21-12

We also saw an armadillo.

day21-13

En here is where they all meet, about 50 manatees gathered around, enjoying the sun. And time to take a selfie with all manatees in the background.

day21-14

When we walked the trail we ended up at the spring, 73F is the water temperature all year long. The closer we got to the spring the more we liked the color of the water.

Really awesome State Park, you will enjoy it when visiting.

day21-15

For lunch we stopped at Boston Market, a restaurant we have never been before, so we gave it a try this time. It is not really a fastfood restaurant but one with a decent kitchen. We had chicken, potatoes and spinach.

day21-17 day21-16

When school was out we went to the Florida Mall and saw this “old man”. Do you remember him, he is waiting for everybody to stop by!
