Day 65 – September 26

It is Friday again, which means worship at St. Lukes Lutheran Church.

citrus trees

After church we took off and headed toward Mount Dora.

day65-02 day65-03

That is where we saw citrus trees, a mile long road with just these trees only.  We wanted to share a couple but there was a large sign that made it very clear it was prohibited.

day65-04 day65-05 day65-06

We also drove by this house that was for sale, we thought it was a perfect place to spend some time. So we took a picture of it so we could look it up on the internet, wondering what the price would be. It also had its own drive way, wouldn’t it be nice to live here. Oh and on the left far away your next door neighbors.

When we got home and we found the house on the internet we also found out that the house on the left actually is the barn in stead of the next door neighbors. The house was very very big, considering we found the barn large enough, and all on a couple of acres of land. The price was only $ 800.00, not too bad for all that was included. Back home the price would at least be double of the asking price. Well we just keep on dreaming…..

day65-07

When we decide to buy something in the area we better think it over again… Think about waking up and find one of those in your back yard.

day65-08

Since Camy is into One Direction I bought a couple of magazines at Goodwills, brand new!

day65-09

We also stopped at the pharmacy to pick up some medicine for Camy, her ear still hurts. The doctor wants to try to solve it with a nose spray and ear drops, trying to relieve her of the pain she still has. Hope all will be fine soon, for a while now she is not allowed to swim and what is a better way to spend your time than to jump into your private pool when you come home from a long day at school.

Day 60 – September 21

Unfortunately we had to get up early this sunday morning, we had told our friends we would meet them at church today, so off to Kissimmee we went.

churchday60-02

Worship started at 11.00AM, so here we were, the three of us and some hundred more. Two were even baptized today, good for Camy to see since this is what they talk about at religion at school. Now she was able to see it for herself. Also the band played some live music, lets rock-n-roll while in church!

day60-03 day60-04 day60-05

Worship lasted a little less than an hour so at noon we drove back home. There was plenty to do for us. Camy had to do some homework and we started to paint the bathrooms. We went from salmon pink to light blue.

day60-06

I also had to do some wood work, I did this outside.

day60-07

And at the same time we cleaned all the shower doors, there is no time for the cleaners to do this so those things need to be done by ourselves when we are here.

Day 51 – September 12

Today is Friday!
First of all we attended worship and it happened to be Camy’s turn to turn in all the donations given this week. All grades collect all donations given through the week and hand them over to church on Friday morning.

Day51-01 Day51-02

Day51-03

After worship was over and everybody returned to their classrooms we went to Public to buy some melon.

Day51-04 Day51-05

For lunch we stopped by to have soup again, since we liked it yesterday we had one for lunch again along with some bread.

Day51-06 Day51-07

After lunch it was time to play some golf. Bram bought a new set of golf clubs for here to stay. So we drove to the driving range and after a couple of weeks he was finally able to hit some.

Day51-08

And me, I enjoyed the sun more than ever.

Day51-09 Day51-10

After school we watched a soccer and volleyball game both held at St. Lukes. Camy choose “yearbook” as an elective and had to take pictures for the yearbook of soccer and volleyball games.

Day51-11 Day51-12

We had dinner at Zaxby’s, a restaurant that serves mainly chicken and since we had never eaten here before we decided to do so today. Some nice white chicken, delicious!

Day 49 – September 10

We started the day by walking through the park. This is where I noticed all these heart shaped leaves, it reminded me of what we know as ivy, light green colored, just beautiful!

Day49-01

Day49-02

Afterwards we went to Target, where we first stopped for a Starbucks, to do some groceries.

Day49-03

Oh, by the way, that is where I bought all this party stuff, for a birthday party.

Day49-04

And we of course had to buy something we were unfamiliar with, watermelon Oreo cookies, mmmmm!

Day49-05

Oh wait a minute, can we also buy some candy or M&M’s?
Oh sure you can, different flavors like, white chocolate, candy corn and pumpkin.

Day49-06 Day49-07

For lunch we stopped at Chick-Fil-A.

Day49-08

When school was out we exchanged cars because it was time for service, so we returned the one we drove in since being in Florida. It was recommended by Alamo to pick up another in stead of keep driving it, so we did. And guess what we got a brand new car, only 22 miles on it. And it was our lucky day as well since we received a free upgrade, so we now drive a brand new full-size SUV.

Day49-09

This was our midsize SUV.

Day49-10

And this is our new full-size SUV.

Day49-11

Carole invited us to have dinner at church, so we did. Once a week, on Wednesday, you can have dinner for $ 4.00 to sponsor the church. Today we had chicken, broccoli, rice and jelly. It was well worth the experience and from the inside it does not even looks like a church. And since you dine with all kinds of different people you can have a little chat as well.

Day 30 – August 22

Today is Friday, the day we worship with all of St. Lukes students at the Chapel. They use large screens so everybody is able to read all the lyrics and sing along. Also do they use it for the speeches given and prayers, high-tec church and up to date.

Day30-01After church we made one more stop at Home Depot, just to have one more look at what kind of flooring we really want.
Is it that hard to make your choice 🙂

Outside near the exit there is a hot dog booth which smells real good and since it is almost lunch time we decide to order a hot dog each.

Day30-02 Day30-03 Day30-04

And when there is some time left …. it is time to relax.
You take a salad, a good book and find the right spot in the park for a couple of hours.

Day30-05

Surrounded by the white Ibis, a curious bird who is not afraid and comes by real close, see whether or not there is some food left.

Day30-06

Last night it rained cats and dogs with a lots of wind even taking parts of the cage out. Since we always leave the house early we only saw what happened when we came home again. With this happening we have got another project to take care of, getting the cage repaired. Now that one part has disappeared, leaving a big gap for all insects, bugs, lizard to “enter” the pool, we need to get this fixed because we are not looking for these kind of visitors.

Day30-07

Day 23 – August 15

Today is Friday and every Friday school starts with a worship in church.
The worship lasted about 40 minutes with speeches and songs and last but not least, do-er awards are handed out. From all classes students can pick a student who did something good, helped someone out or was noticed in some other way. Counting all the votes a student from every class will be called and need to come forward to receive an award and T-shirt. A teacher is also voted for by students, so he or she will also receive an award.

Day23-01 Day23-02

We, as parents, are allowed to visit as well. And since this is all new to us as well we decided to join the worship and see for ourselves. And even though we are no Lutherns it was good see and we might join them again next week.

After worship was over, all students went back to class and had a normal day in school. And we …. we had this wonderful garot cake, yumie! Hey we need to spoil ourselves once in awhile, haha.

Day23-03

While driving around we also saw this parking lot with, I do not know how many, school buses, awesome to see because that is what they are.

Day23-04 Day23-05

In the meantime it was lunch time, SO what do we have for lunch today?
Why not go over to Panera Bread, it’s been a while since we last ate here. And since it is crowded here all the time, the food must be good. We both had a flat bread along with a smoothie. And indeed delicious.

Day23-06

After school was out and the weekend had started Camy wanted to go to the outlet mall.
Since she was at school the entire week and did not see the inside of a store we decided to go.
This is where we saw this candy store with “Lego” candies.

Day23-07

And how’bout this mega candy necklace.

Day23-08

And even though the mall is large enough and with all the different stores we did not buy anything today. And let me tell you that does not happen very often 🙂
