Day 110 – November 10

It is Monday, a new week at school is about to begin. Here Camy and I are waiting in the car to go to school at 7.00 in the morning.

day110-01

day110-02

Since my B-12 is very low I had an egg muffin this morning at Mc Donalds. I really do not like them but is has eggs, cheese and meat on it, which they say is good for you. I normally would not eat this but what can I say.

day110-03 day110-04

After we had breakfast and taken Camy to school we went to Sanford. We ran into this Thrift store, real old, unfortunately they had nothing I liked. Just to discover those stores and wander around is fun on its self.

day110-05 day110-06

On our way we also saw those ostriches at a farm.

day110-07

At Home Depot we had to get something when we walked by the Christmas department. They do have such lovely things here. Just a little while and all streets are decorated with lights and everything. We will show you pictures by then.

day110-08

When we got home we found another three cards in our mailbox, thanks!

Day 99 – October 30

This was the first night again to sleep in my own bed, it feels so good. Bram took Camy to school by himself so I could sleep a little longer and get up when I felt like it. And is there anything better than to wake up while the sun rises. It is still early about 07.00AM but the sun is strong already. This kind of weather makes me real happy!

I took it slow the entire day.

day99-02

By the time Camy got home I started to do some crafting. I got this old Singer sowing machine, Carole has me borrow it from her. So here out on the pool deck it feels so good even when it is getting dark it still feels warm and swell.

day99-03

Camy is taking care of her homework.

day99-04

And Bram is inside, working the kitchen. Ahh does that look cozy or what, some of that autumn/winter feeling.

Day 91 – October 22

Today, Bram took Camy to school by himself again. I took it easy, slept a little longer than normally and went out to the pool deck and enjoyed the sun.

day91-02

When it was time to pick Camy up again in the afternoon I felt good enough to come along and pick her up too so we both picked her up.

day91-03

She was surprised to see me when we got to school even tough it does not show on the picture, hihi.

day91-04

When you have not been outside for awhile you notice that everything just goes on and on once you do. See what they have done on the I-4, they started to plant new palm trees. It looks tropical, I like the tree and does give you that holiday feeling.

day91-05

Once home, Bram had to shave his head bold, Camy has done it before and gets better and better in it so she was able to help Bram out.

day91-06

We also received some more cards from back home, thanks as always!

And not to forget all the WhatsApp’s and Facebook messages. Brams friends also take the time to write something and show their support. I can not say how much it is appreciated, it does me real GOOD!

Day 26 – August 18

Our goal for today: looking for a school uniform.
Or in other words trying to find kaki and dark blue shorts for Camy.
Again, we had already crossed this off of our list, right?
Absolutely right, Camy had already bought 2 pair of jeans but they are too hot to wear. So today after we dropped Camy off at school we went looking for them.

And of course it was time to have a cup of coffee, you want something with it?

Day26-01

For lunch we had this Cranberry Walnut salad.
Now we just need a nice and cool place, the shade is probably best.
Enjoy!

Day26-02 Day26-03

We picked Camy up at 03.45PM, she now has resource after her final class. This is like an extra class for some 30 minutes, this allows students to already do their homework but also have the teachers nearby, so when questions arise they are still available to help. And secondly, most of the homework is done by the time we get home, which allows us to have more quiet evenings.

Because we had some questions for a couple of teachers Bram had to sign in before he was allowed to enter the school. Safety first, no one is allowed to enter without signing in and out for that matter. They now know, at all times, who entered the school and why.

Day26-04

After we were done at school we went to Mc Donalds to have an ice cream and take care of the remaining homework. We did this at Mc Donalds since we did not go home right after school because tonight we are expected back at school. Mc Donalds is also convenient because internet is available here and most books are web based.

Day26-05

We were invited back to school tonight because it was time to meet all the teachers and to have all parents meet all teachers they set up a schedule based on the students regular classes and have them change class rooms every 10 minutes, just like students do. Within this 10 minutes all teachers were able to tell who they were, what they teach and what students will be thought this year. After 10 minutes the announcement was made that class was over and you had to go to your next class. Camy made the announcement after 3rd period, “this period is over please go to your next class”, she did it very convincing with an already American accent. So proud!!

Day26-06

Day 18 – August 10

The first thing I had to do today was cut Brams hair.
Since he wants to have it cut real short, bold headed, we have to do this once a week from now on.

Day18-01

And once done, guess what….. yep a dip in the pool.

Day18-02Day18-03

At 01.00PM we had to get ourselves ready for a short visit to school, our first visit.

Day18-04

After a 45 minute drive we arrived at school, St. Lukes.
First impression…. big and yes indeed a church.

Day18-05Day18-06Day18-07

There was a pre-sale at school which enabled us to buy jeans and shirts among other items. First thing we did was buy a pair of jeans for Camy. Choices had to be made, kaki or dark blue jeans, long pants or shorts, wide or skinny. We ordered a kaki and dark blue one. They can be picked up on Thursday until than she is allowed to wear her own kaki jeans.

You were even able to buy, bows, purses and lunch boxes, all in school colors. We do not need this, but it was funny to see, very much in school style!

Day18-08

On top of the jeans sleeved polo shirts will be worn. They were available in different colors: green, red, yellow, blue and white. A green colored shirt was mandatory because this needs to be worn when on field trips. We also bought a blue and white one.

And besides we also bought a pink one with the Wild Cats logo. She is allowed to wear this on wednesdays when all is not too strict and everybody is allowed to wear shirts not tucked in.

We then went looking for Camy’s homeroom teacher, Miss Barfield.
There was a locker waiting for Camy in her homeroom, books and planner were already placed into the locker, we added all that we bought ourselves. In total there will be 25 students in Camy’s homeroom.

Day18-09
Day18-10

Day18-11Tomorrow there will be a little gathering with all 6th graders, parents not allowed! This first meeting will be about 90minutes, a good first test for Camy, excited!

On the way home, we had dinner at Denny’s, a double cheeseburger.

Day18-13 Day18-14

Day 12 – August 4

We had to do some grocery shopping today, so off we went.
It might not look as we did a whole of shopping, but that is because of the size of trunk of the car. There are at least 15 bags and enough food for the next week. Normally we do not buy the large sized veggies and all that but today we did buy the large 4lbs ones.

Day12-1We also had received a to do list from school, so we bought school supplies and other items mentioned on the list.
The only things we still needed after we were done, a back pack, PE uniform and a school uniform.

Day12-2When we returned home they were mowing the lawn, which they always do in Sandy Ridge. The H.O.A. made a deal with this company and they take care of the entire residential area. This way the community always looks good and well taken care of, especially for all the rentals.

Day12-3

Dinner time came along and we had: broccoli, tutor tots, corndog and home-made salad.

Day12-4
