Day 106 – November 6

Today I had an appointment with the hematologist. The appointment was at 1.45PM and to kill the time we spend some time at a mall close by.

hematologist

day106-02

We had a cup of tea with my sister, through the internet of course but it felt good and not far at all. Both of us enjoying a cup of tea.

day106-03

After that we did some walking around the stores. This is the Target symbol, this was a Super Target, so we wandered around for quite some time.

day106-04

We bought almonds, mmmm to good to be true.

day106-05

This made my sister think so she got up and got some herself.

day106-06

I showed her the escalator for the shopping carts. We had seen this before but it always makes wonder what you will see next that makes life easy here. Do we know something like this in Holland, I have never seen it, have you?

The doctor brought me some good news, he told me I looked much better than before, that was a nice compliment to start with. We went through the test results taken 2 weeks ago while in the hospital.

All the results came back positive, so that was good. The only thing, and I already knew this, was my B12 level, that was way too low. He gave me a shot of this and I need to come two more times before heading home. He also took some blood to compare this with what they took from me before and they will inform us about the results next time we visit. I’m being looked after real good, which makes me feel good.

day106-07On the way back we happen to drive by the Goodwill store where it all started some 3 weeks ago. I felt good after what the doctor just told me so I decided to stop and visit the store. As you can imagine it was not something on my to do list at first, it just felt strange going inside. Just facing the site where it all happened and being afraid it might happen again, but hey what are the odds. And of course all went well, walked around and looked around, feeling good and just being able to finish it this way made me proud.

day106-08

I, of course, had to buy something so I bought this basket for $2.00.

day106-09

When we got home, we found this card from my colleagues. Thank you for thinking about me, it does me real good!

Day 21 – August 13

Today started out with a little sun while hitting some traffic on the way to school.

Day21-0.jpg1

Today we visited a Wal-Mart Neighboorhood Market, only food is sold here. A little different from the Walmart we all know, the Megastore.

Day21-02

This was a funny thing, ground beef chucked.

Day21-03

We bought some raspberries and banana’s.

Day21-04

The raspberries are soo big and soo sweet!

Day21-05

So, here we are without Camy enjoying a cup of coffee and tea.
It still needs to sink in that we do not have to do anything but enjoy life to the fullest.

Day21-06

We went to Target because we are looking for some curtains in the living room. That is when I also ran into these awesome beds and make ups.
They do have great things here!

Day21-07

At Wendy’s we had this salad, can not have fast food all the time.

Day21-08

Mega Store: Target

Recognizing that busy shoppers don’t always have time to visit several stores in one shopping trip, Target developed the Mega Store to provide guests with the convenience of one-stop shopping. The first SuperTarget — which included a grocery section with fresh produce, dairy, meat — opened in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1995. Target became a USDA certified-organic produce retailer, one of the first grocers in the country to do so. To meet these guidelines, the produce is guaranteed to meet USDA organic standards on everything from how it’s grown and transported to how it’s stocked in our stores. Today, the average SuperTarget carries more than 600 organic items.
